Last call: Mobile Developer Challenge!

This is it – do or die time. Next week we’ll be closing submissions on the Mobile Developer Challenge! Please check out the page linked to there, or go directly to the submission form if you’re ready.

We had some questions about eligibility, and to clarify, I had erroneously posted a version of the rules that left out India. Submissions from India are welcome, and in fact submissions from ALL countries are welcome. The legalities mean that we can only award prizes in the US, UK, India and Canada, however. Still, I think there are lots of good reasons to submit your entry, even if you can’t cash in on the prizes, such as the thrill of personal achievement, or getting on top of a new technology.

We’re looking forward to tallying all the submissions and seeing what you come up with! The deadline is July 18, 11:59pm Pacific time.

Is it mandatory to publish the source code on Github? Can it be a private Github repo? You need to keep in mind that not everyone would be open to publishing their code openly. Thanks in advance for answering this ASAP

I got late to the party under the same assumption, but would like to wish all developers “All the best” may the best and innovative entry wins..

Hey Gaurav, I thought I replied over the weekend, but was on my phone so seems to not have worked.

Yes, we are requiring public github repos in the spirit of sharing your code. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!

Just a quick note: Once you submit your entry, you’ll be returned to the landing page – there should be a message that displays that we received your entry that fades after 5 seconds. I didn’t want to spam your mailbox any further, which is why we did it this way. thanks!

Is there any way to confirm that an entry was received since the deadline is in a few hours?

Matt Demma? Got it. Learning my lesson, will always have an email confirmation. Silly me, trying to save postage ;)

Thanks for the quick reply! Can’t argue with a clean inbox, but couldn’t remember the fading confirmation so wanted to double-check.

I’ve just “submitted” my app, but received no confirmation page or email…. Is that what should happen?

+1. I’m not sure I noticed the fading confirmation either. In any case, I emailed the details to you (before the submission deadline) to be safe.

  • Danat Pomeranets

Hi Dana, since I have not seen any confirmation message either, and tried submitting the applications 3 times in the last 2 days :) – could you please kindly confirm that you received it? (Danat Pomeranets, Nefos Mobile App) ? Thank you!

  • William Goulding

Hi Dana, did you receive our entry? Its in my name. Submitted it twice I think but can’t remember the fading message. Thanks.
