Watch Force.com Developer Courses on iTunes!

You can now access over 30 hours of Force.com classroom training as podcasts on iTunes. We've seen so much interest lately in building cloud apps on Force.com, that we just had to record our formal training sessions and make them available to you for free.

DEV 401 will teach you how to build a sophisticated application from start to finish, including how to design applications for the cloud, create custom objects, use workflow and rules to automate processes, and build the user interface.

DEV 501 is designed for experienced developers. DEV 501 will give you a deep dive into the Force.com programming languages and the cloud-based development environment.

Of course, nothing beats learning in-person from a professional instructor, so you can still register for a class in a city near you: Force.com classroom courses.

Is this podcasts not avaliable outside US,UK ?

  • Marc

Where can you download the exercises that are mentioned in the recordings?

  • http://developer.force.com Jesse

David – Our team is working on fixing the missing module issue. In the meantime, you can subscribe to this RSS feed: http://www.salesforcetrainingpodcasts.com/podcasts/xml/sfdcTandC.xml – It contains the missing module.

Sham – It’s my understanding that the recordings should be available to everyone in all locations. If you’re having trouble accessing the recordings using the instructions included in the post, please try subscribing to this RSS feed instead: http://www.salesforcetrainingpodcasts.com/podcasts/xml/sfdcTandC.xml – Let me know if that works.

Marc – I’m not sure if the exercises are identical, but Developer Guide also builds a recruiting application, so the subject matter probably lines up pretty closely.

    Thanks a lot Jesse !
I can access the podcasts using the RSS Feed.

Does Salesforce provide a package that contains the recruiting app environment? It will be very time-consuming to build all of it in preparation for the Dev 501 exercises. I took 501 last year and kept my sample files and books but they’re not so useful without the underlying app itself.

The Force.com Fundamentals book takes you to the above link to download the sample code for the recruiting app, but it is not there that I can find. Can someone point me in the right directions?
    Thanks!

Pat – Check out the “Download the Sample Resources” section of the page. The RecruitingApp-4_0.zip (http://wiki.developerforce.com/images/4/4f/RecruitingApp-4_0.zip) link is what you’re looking for.

Is something wrong with the podcast server? I started the downloads last night and its not complete yet. Only one session is still downloading (9 hrs remaining, it said 20+ hrs for 200mb), and rest of them broke with error (err = -3259).
I have a pretty fast internet connection, I just downloaded eclipse ide (~100mb) in under a minute.

Jesse, It didn’t help. I updated my iTunes to latest and also disabled firewall as instructed in that article but no use.
    Thanks for helping.

Jesse, I am not able to download the podcasts. The download is extremely slow and errors out after a few minutes. Says 40 hours for 300MB. I have a high speed broadband connection.
